Sacrament of Confirmation

“Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them.  and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.” – Acts 2:3-4

Confirmation is the Sacrament that seals us with the Holy Spirit, ratifying in us the Theological Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Love which we received at Baptism.  In one regard, the sacrement allows us to choose our faith and commit to it on a deeper level.  Yet even more importantly, we are given the grace to grow stronger in our faith and withstand all trials of faith. In this Sacrament we receive the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord.  These Seven Gifts give us the strength and courage to boldly live our faith and draw others to the same love of God that has been poured upon us in Confirmation.

In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, the Sacrament of Confirmation is normally administrated at two stages in life: youth and adult.

Youth Confirmation

Adult Confirmation is administered to those who have been baptized and received their First Communion.  As Catholics we are invited to be confirmed so that we have the grace to live out God’s plan for us.  If you have not been confirmed and are looking for deeper engagement in your faith, you are welcome to be a part of our Adult Confirmation program.  If you have any questions, please CONTACT the parish office, (414) 744-0808, or email Karen Bushman at karen@secatholic.org.

If you are interested in pursuing confirmation CONTACT the parish office.
